One down, two big ones more to go

I am so excited because in the last 10 days, I have only had soda once, on New Year's Eve. And instead of feeling defeated and getting right back to it and drinking soda every day, I now make all my decisions with the intent of avoiding it at all costs.
A good example of that happened today. I went to the grocery store to buy a TV dinner and was close to choosing a Pizza. I never eat pizza with anything BUT soda. I realized that maybe a few months from now I can have a soda and a slice of pizza, because I am no longer addicted to it and will not go on a binge based on one soda. But doing it now... I was not so sure. So I left the pizza and brought home something else. Something I did not associate with soda. And I feel really good about the choice I made. I look forward to making better choices in the weeks and months ahead. Let's see if I can actually loose a pound a week.

It is hope...

It is with lots of hope that I welcome the new year. I am healthy, I am strong and I want to push my limits to see what I can accomplish.
I am about to start working in 15 minutes, and so I cannot write for a long time tonight. What I want to remind myself that I need to keep trying, no matter what.
I never thought I would ever quit smoking, and yet here I am, smoke free and not needing one since February of last year.
Life is to short to waste it laying down or doing nothing. I want to try everything once and enjoy my life. The human body is an amazing machine, and if you take care of it, it will last for a long time. It is time to try something different.

I am doing it again - new year's resolutions

I've been blogging for a year now, and it has not kept me from cheating on my diet or exercising more. It has made it painfully obvious that I need to get a spine and some guts and just do what I need to do. Therefore, here are my new year's resolutions:
1) I will finally get the ball rolling and loose one pound a week, every week for the year 2008.
2) I will exercise for a minimum of one hour, at least six days a week, until I reach my goal weight (130 lbs).
3) I will go back to school and make sure that I am enrolled before the summer of 2008 is over.
4) I will start an investment account by the end of January and contribute $50 minimum a month.
5) I will take 1/2 of my salary to create the cash flow for my company.
6) I will take 1/2 of my salary to pay $6k on my student loans (with interest and penalties will probably cover $4.5K of the actual bill.
7) I will actually join the human race and make 1 new friend a week for the whole year of 2008.
8) I will take two trips this year: one to US, one cruise.
9) I will learn to enjoy myself on EVERYTHING I do.
10) I will actually revise my list every month to make sure I am on track.
What are your resolutions? Happy NEW Year and keep trying.
